Finding your way around the IARC website

Upgrades on the site have been undertaken both last year and this and the content continues to grow.
Take time to look around. You can see a list of currently
recognized institutions at
http://www.iarcedu.com/directory.aspx
Check the directory of courses from member institutions at http://www.iarcedu.com/courses.aspx
This is not comprehensive, but it does give a cross section for a wide range of courses on offer.
We encourage our current members to add to the list to promote their courses.

1. The future of education in the USA

See the recent article by CHEA President Judith S. Eaton.

With Congress poised to renew the Higher Education Act, the push for accountability has
opened the door to proposed federal changes to accreditation of higher education. If not properly
countered, federal accountability demands will set us firmly on a path where self-regulation of
academic quality through accreditation is significantly diminished by government regulation.
We will experience a shrinking of the presence of accreditation.
If confronted with our situation, Alice in Wonderland might have said: "Self-regulation is, after all, just
government regulation that I like."

3. RPL in Australia, click here
Article supplied by Carmel Thompson, The Southern Cross Connection

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is an integral component of the vocational education and training (VET)
system in Australia. It provides a way of recognizing skills and knowledge that already exist, regardless of how,
when or where the learning took place, so that they may be counted towards the achievement of a qualification.
