Over the past two years, the board has given primary attention to developing a system that is credible and relevant on a global basis; and building on this, to develop a core membership of institutions that represent a broad cross section of both disciplines and regions across the world.
There are now 19 recognised institutions; with a number of

The Australian Counselling Association, has this year, become the first professional association to affiliate with IARC. We would encourage all recognised member institutions to encourage other professional bodies to seek affiliation.
The profile of the IARC web site has steadily grown this year. We constantly receive more than 100 session users a week. Several members report regularly getting referred hits from the IARC web site.
Most new IARC recognised institutions have resulted from first contact made on the web site.

Committee Members:
Carmel Thompson (pending membership of her institution: Southern Cross Connection)
Katie Freeth (Internet Business Services)
Further nominations are welcome.
Anyone representing a member institution may nominate for the board. We can accept any number of members on the board. We do not require board members to attend meetings, given the fact that people are spread widely across the world. Members are however expected to contribute to the activity of the board (eg. taking on a responsibility such as producing a newsletter, promoting membership or fostering interaction between existing recognised institutions). Board members are also consulted whenever a new application for recognition is received (generally via e mail). At this stage, formal meetings are minimal, between two and four per year, held in Queensland Australia. We anticipate in the future, as membership grows, that meetings may be held annually at an international conference, and in between, as a telephone or video conferencing hook up.
If you would like to nominate yourself or an employee, and offer to take on one of the above mentioned tasks; please do before the last day of July.
Accounts for annual recognition fees are being dispatched with this news bulletin.
Payment is best made by credit card; or otherwise by a bank draft made out in Australian dollars
(Not US or any other currency. Please note: payments in non Australian currencies can be more complex for us to process through the bank).
